Meet Your Instructors

Katie Pettyjohn Reuther

Katie Reuther began learning the cleaning industry as a third grader, cleaning carpets alongside her dad, Robert Pettyjohn.

Growing up in a family cleaning business gave Katie the opportunity to learn textile care from an early age. Over the years, that experience expanded into carpets, upholstery, fine rugs, and specialty textiles.

Today, Katie’s focus is not only on providing the best possible service to her clients, but also on sharing what she has learned with others in the industry.

She believes good textile care begins with understanding what you’re working on, respecting the item you’re responsible for, and continuing to learn throughout your career.

Teaching gives Katie an opportunity to pass along the knowledge and experience that others have shared with her throughout her own career.

Andrew Reuther

Andrew Reuther began working in the cleaning industry in 2008, initially working primarily in carpet cleaning. His experience later expanded into upholstery, area and Oriental rugs, and other areas of professional textile care.

Today, Andrew serves as Operations Manager at Pettyjohn’s, where he oversees day-to-day cleaning operations and has trained numerous technicians over the years.

Andrew enjoys the problem-solving side of the cleaning industry and is particularly interested in understanding why processes work and finding practical ways to improve them.

His approach to teaching is similar. Rather than simply telling students what to do, he wants them to understand the reasoning behind it and then have the opportunity to practice it themselves.
